Science journalist since 1969, Luis Ángel Fernández Hermana has worked in Latin America and Europe and is Science Correspondent for the Periódico di Cataluña since 1982. He is a founder member of the Digital Journalists Group, created in Catalonia in 1996. Much of his work relates to the concept of “knowledge network management”, for which he has developed systems for collaborative networking and for running virtual communities.

From 1996 to 2004, he was Director of enredando.com, the company publishing “enredando.com”, a journal which reflects on the impact of the Internet on society and which has published more than 425 articles on this theme. He also helped found 3 international “en.red.ando” conferences (Barcelona 2000, 2001 and 2003) which focus on visualisation of computing, the intelligent web, and the semantic web. “Enredando” has also organized a Masters in Digital Communications programme in collaboration with the Universities of the Balearic Islands and of Vic.

Today, he continues to work as a consultant and journalist, with particular interest in the application of information technologies in organizations, management of knowledge networks, and development of information systems for virtual communities.
