l’actualite francophone et internationale, et sur une centaine
d’entretiens menes depuis plusieurs annees. Une part importante est
consacrée aux bibliothèques numériques.
L’ouvrage (PDF) est publie en
ligne sur le Net des etudes francaises (NEF),

gratuitement par Numilog dans quelques jours.

Sommaire
L’internet et les technologies numériques bouleversent le monde du livre. Imprimé sous de multiples formes depuis plus de cinq siècles, le livre se convertit. Si le livre imprimé a toujours sa place, d’autres supports se développent, et les habitudes de travail changent. On voit apparaître les textes électroniques, les bibliothèques numériques, les librairies en ligne, les éditeurs électroniques, les encyclopédies en ligne, les oeuvres hypermédias, les logiciels de lecture et les appareils de lecture dédiés. Le web devient une vaste encyclopédie et le patrimoine mondial est en cours de numérisation. Le papier électronique est pour bientôt. Basé sur le suivi de l’actualité et sur une centaine d’entretiens, ce livre tente de faire le tour de la question. Il est complété par une chronologie détaillée et une liste de sites web.
Diffusion
Le présent livre est publié en ligne sur le Net des études françaises (NEF), fondé en mai 2000 par Russon Wooldridge, professeur au département d’études françaises de l’Université de Toronto (Canada). Le NEF se veut d’une part "un filet trouvé qui ne capte que des morceaux choisis du monde des études françaises, tout en tissant des liens entre eux", d’autre part un réseau dont les "auteurs sont des personnes oeuvrant dans le champ des études françaises et partageant librement leur savoir et leurs produits avec autrui", deux belles définitions qui s’appliquent aussi à ce livre.
Dans quelques semaines, le présent livre sera également diffusé gratuitement par la grande librairie numérique Numilog, avec possibilité d’écoute sur synthèse vocale, y compris dans les bibliothèques numériques gérées par Numilog et dans la Bibliothèque numérique pour le Handicap (BnH).
